The Regent’s Park Sexual Health Clinic was founded in 1985 by Barbara Davies, a former nurse, after a long struggle with the Department of Health who tried to ban the advertising of a private sexual health clinic as an alternative to the NHS.
After a year of negotiations, the DHSS finally gave way – and the Regent’s Park Clinic thus succeeded in obtaining the first governmental consent ever granted to provide specialised private sexual health services in this country.
It is now managed by Doctorcall Ltd which has over 20 years experience of providing private medical treatment to individuals. Other Doctorcall services include prompt medical treatment through a rapid-response visiting doctor service, GP consultations and health screenings in a Harley Street clinic, cosmetic treatment for women and men, and Occupational Health services for companies.
Doctorcall opened a new clinic in Manchester in 2008.
